Siemens is investing two billion euros in new plants – China remains important

Munich, Beijing In dealing with China, the technology group Siemens is relying on a new dual strategy. Despite all the geopolitical uncertainties, CEO Roland Busch wants to further expand business in China – and at the same time reduce dependence on the country. “The Chinese market is strong and will continue to grow,” said Siemens boss Roland Busch to the Handelsblatt. No company can afford to ignore these opportunities.

Siemens is therefore increasing the capacity of its automation plant in Chengdu by 40 percent. But unlike in the past, the future will primarily be produced in China for China. In the future, other Asian markets will be supplied from a new plant in Singapore. Business beyond Asia will also be strengthened. On Thursday Busch announced further investments with a volume of 800 million euros, primarily in locations in Europe and the USA.
