According to CNBC’s report, the French government is making new decisions to reduce its carbon footprint. In line with these decisions, all short-haul flights within France were banned. Thus, jet fuels spent for short distances will be saved and harmful gas emissions to the environment will be reduced.
The government announced the decision itself. However, the following questions began to be asked. Which flights are considered short haul? According to the decisions announced by the government, flights between rail transportation and distances not exceeding 2.5 hours are included in this scope. In other words, if you can go where you want to go in less than 2.5 hours by rail, it is forbidden to use an airline between that distance.
