Share of women in boardrooms rises to a high

Frankfurt / Main According to a study, there are more women in the top floors of listed German companies than ever before. According to the auditing and consulting firm EY, the number of female board members in the 160 companies in the Dax family increased by 20 to 94 top managers as of January 1, 2022. It was the highest value since the evaluation began in 2013.

The proportion of female executives on the Executive Board rose by 2.4 percentage points year-on-year to a high of 13.4 percent. Since January 2017, the proportion of women has doubled. In a good half of the companies examined, however, there is still no manager on the top floor. In addition, as of January 1, 2022, only nine companies were headed by a woman.
