US Senate candidate from California Timothy UrsichHe stated that he wants to accept Dogecoin as ‘legal’ in the state. The Democratic candidate will take part in the June 7 primary elections.

Senate candidate Ulsich reached out to both Dogecoin investors and Tesla CEO Elon Musk, requesting support for the legal adoption of Dogecoin. In addition to all these support requests, he also requested support from Dogecoin co-founder Billy Markus.

The candidate to participate in the primary votes stated that if elected, he would prepare a bill that would legally recommend Dogecoin in California. It also promised to support cryptocurrencies and drive mass adoption of new financial technology.

“I urge Billy Markus and Elon Musk to support my US Senate campaign in California,” Ulsich tweeted.

“As I stated weeks ago, if I’m voted/elected on June 7th, dogecoinI will prepare a bill proposing legally. I will push for mass adoption through the universal use of #cryptocurrencies.”

Along with cryptocurrencies, Ursich pledged to make health and mental health a top priority if elected. It’s not yet clear whether the Democratic nominee will be endorsed by Elon Musk and Billy Markus.

California Governor Gavin Newsom has been described as more crypto-friendly, as he signed an executive order last month that laid the groundwork for regulating the crypto industry.
