Dusseldorf Sebastian Kurz allegedly wants to resign from all political offices. This is reported by the Austrian media “Krone” and “heute.at” as well as the tabloid “Bild” and the news channel “n-tv”. At 11.30 a.m. Austria’s ex-Chancellor wants to announce the move during a press conference.

Kurz resigned in October after allegations of corruption. His successor is Foreign Minister Alexander Schallenberg (ÖVP). Briefly, however, remained party leader and took over the chairmanship of the ÖVP parliamentary group.

The birth of his son ultimately made the difference, reports the daily newspaper “Krone”, referring to statements made by Kurz to the newspaper. Interior Minister Karl Nehammer should be the new ÖVP boss.
