Schools across Turkey have been suspended! Until when?

Today, 2 earthquakes with a magnitude of 7.7 occurred in more than 10 provinces in the Southeastern Anatolia region of Turkey, causing great destruction. While the whole world is mobilizing for search and rescue activities, it has been announced that schools are also on holiday.

Schools are on holiday until February 13!

An earthquake of 7.7 magnitude occurred at 04:17 in the Pazarcık district of Kahramanmaraş province today. Surrounding provinces, especially Hatay, Adana, Osmaniye, Diyarbakır, Malatya and Şanlıurfa, were also affected by the earthquake.

After more than a hundred aftershocks of up to 6.6, another earthquake with a magnitude of 7.6 (revised as 7.7) according to AFAD data and 7.5 magnitude according to Kandilli Observatory data occurred at 13:24.

After that, the Minister of National Education Özer said, “We are taking a one-week holiday in our schools all over Turkey until February 13.”
