Pop star Sarah Connor (41) open and vulnerable like never before: The successful musician talks about her depression and panic attacks.
Connor was a guest on “SAT.1 breakfast television” on Friday. Of course, the conversation with editor Benedikt Amara is about her new music. But also about serious topics that flow into their new songs and take them on themselves.
In her ballad “Stark”, the musician addresses the point of view of a caregiver of a depressed person. Talking about it openly in an interview, on the other hand, gives her “very sweaty hands”.
Connor: “You’re also the first person I ever talk to about this song. I can only say: Depression and the bipolarity of my thoughts, of my being, is something that has preoccupied me all my life. I also grew up with people who have to do with it. “
Sarah opens her insides – for more acceptance and empathic interaction in society.

The “The Voice” star also tells on “Breakfast TV” that panic attacks can happen at any time: “I was in the woods with my dogs yesterday morning and had a nice, well-groomed panic attack. In the middle of the woods. At Sunshine. I had no idea why. I just thought, ‘What is this now? Why is this feeling coming now? ‘”
Connor continues: “For me this is already an old friend. Like a sister who is there and where I think, ‘Okay, that’s the way it is right now.’ (…) I’ve learned to live with it. That it happens in between. It happens to me on stage, while driving a car, in situations where I can’t get away, in a crowd or in a queue. “

Of course, Sarah’s large family is a great support. In addition to five siblings and two half-siblings, the musician has four children of her own – two with ex-husband Marc Terenzi and two with her current husband Florian Fischer. Florian dedicated her song “In between we are friends”.
Sarah then tells a little secret about their marriage: “I’ve been in a relationship for over twelve years and have been married for many, many years. Much longer than you think out there. ”
So far it has officially been said that Connor and Fischer have been married since 2017 …
