Galaxy Z Flip 4, whose hinge structure has been developed, is much more advanced when folding. The hinge, which provides both a stronger and faster opening and closing feeling, also facilitates one-handed opening. But again, opening it with one hand is not at the ideal level.
Coming with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, Flip 4 has an adaptive 120 Hz display. The Flip 4’s only screen isn’t the front one.
When we close the cover, the rear screen comes into play. This 1.9-inch screen comes with Super AMOLED. Shortcuts and widgets can be used on the screen. You can customize this field yourself. The refresh rate of this small external display is 60 Hz.
Camera
Samsung has not made a serious update to the cameras of the Galaxy Z Flip 3. The 12 Megapixel camera in the previous generation still continues. Of course, there are some changes and improvements in the pixel density and sensor. But the overall camera experience remains similar to the previous generation.
The second camera of Z Flip 4, which comes with the main camera with a resolution of 12 Megapixels with f / 1.8 aperture, is an ultra wide-angle lens with a resolution of 12 Megapixels. The phone, which can take 123-degree ultra-wide-angle photos, does not have any other camera on the back. Support such as optical zoom is not available.
When we look at the front camera, we see a 10 Megapixel selfie camera with f / 2.4 aperture. The main camera with OIS support can record 4K 60 FPS video.
Performance
Powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 comes with 8GB of RAM. The internal memory option will be 128 GB.
Since we experienced the Galaxy Z Flip 4, which comes with the Android 12 operating system, before its launch, we experienced it with engineering sample software.
The Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which has 8 cores in total, is produced with 4 nm technology. The processor’s top-performing core runs at 3.18 GHz, while the other cores run at 2.7 and 2 GHz. According to Galaxy Fold 4, the processor is operated at the same frequency in Flip 4. But the speed of the graphics unit is slightly lowered.
On the graphics side, Adreno 730 running at 818 MHz was used. The processor, which has a successful performance in the popular games we have experienced, successfully feeds both high resolution and large screen.
On the screen, you see both the game performance and the scores it received in popular performance tests. Of course, since the product is an engineering example, the numbers may change positively after release.
Connectivity features
Supporting connection technologies such as 6 GHz, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, GPS and 5G along with WiFi 802.11ax, Galaxy Z Flip 4 has a USB Type C physical connection unit. Galaxy Z Flip 4, which has a 3700 mAh battery, will have 25 Watt fast charging support.
