According to the Russian news agency RBC.ru, Mikhail made the statement during a meeting with members of the Liberal Democratic Party in the State Duma on Friday, March 25.
The meeting, which largely touched on Russia’s plans to revive the economy after a collapse, also discussed the issue of cryptocurrencies after the sanctions due to the invasion of Ukraine.

The Prime Minister urged to integrate digital currencies into the country’s economy, noting that it is possible to solve problems with the regulation of cryptocurrencies with the help of the Russian central bank:
“Undoubtedly, such problems can be solved jointly with the help of the Central Bank to assess the risks posed by cryptocurrencies for the circulation of money in Russia”
The Russian prime minister also said that additional steps should be taken to regulate cryptocurrency mining in the country.
Appreciating the country’s finance ministry for its interest in the cryptocurrency mining industry, Mishustin said:
“There are other interesting initiatives as well. In particular, issues such as the regulation of cryptocurrency mining, cryptocurrency circulation, digital financial assets in general, and the development of online commerce.”
Despite Russia’s central bank maintaining a strict line on crypto mining, Putin in January rejected the central bank’s proposal to ban crypto-assets altogether, showing his support for the proposal to tax and regulate crypto mining.
