Berlin Mr. Kahl, since Russia’s attack on Ukraine, the Federal Intelligence Service has been in demand like it hasn’t been for a long time. How serious does an event have to be these days for your people to be allowed to ring you out of bed at night?
Of course, if something decisive for the war happens, my people can reach me at any time. However, the Chancellery is informed of our findings, regardless of whether the BND President is asleep or not.
Was that the case with the uprising of mercenary boss Prigozhin in Russia?
That started in the evening hours. I don’t go to bed that early.
