Rhetoric expert assesses body language in the TV triall

Right at the beginning, the three candidates for chancellor showed how the second TV duel will go. Armin Laschet (CDU) and Annalena Baerbock (Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen) criticized their opponent Olaf Scholz (SPD) for alleged failures in the fight against money laundering, Scholz had to put up with the accusation of not having performed his supervisory duties.

The corona pandemic, the dealings with the Left Party and the right-wing populist AfD also caused controversy. According to a quick poll right after the Trielli, Olaf Scholz was still able to convince the majority of the audience. For the rhetoric expert Stefan Wachtel, the winners and losers of the Triell are clearly certain: “Scholz did everything right for his customers.”

The coach for top managers certifies that he and Baerbock are well prepared, while the Union chancellor candidate Laschet has missed opportunities. He behaved like “during an oral exam”, not like a leader.
