Reusable Paper Developed From Sunflower Pollen

Scientists in Singapore broke new ground with the potential to make history of all the negativities of disposable paper. As a result of the studies, a reusable paper was developed from sunflower pollen.

Paper waste, which has been among the environmental problems that have been discussed for years, will soon be reduced with a new solution with the advancement of the scientific world. Although the path to this solution is not yet certain, scientists from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore recently said: of reusable paper It was a success that showed how it could be.

Scientists not only developed a new type of paper, but also made it possible to easily remove all written content from the paper. Moreover, paper is not made of trees like today’s paper, from sunflower pollen produced. To create the paper, scientists developed a gel-like substance that can be formed into millimeter-thick sheets using pollen grains.

Printed on paper retains its integrity even under water:

The function of pollen-based reusable paper was also not much different from standard papers. It is possible to write on paper with the printer. In fact, the texts and pictures printed on the paper are different from the standard papers. It does not suffer any damage under water.

Deleting content written/printed on paper is also a very simple process. The only thing that needs to be done to delete the contents is a paper. in alkaline solution hold for a few minutes. After a certain time, all the toner on the paper is erased from the paper. However, the life of the developed paper is not unlimited. The deletion can be done up to eight repetitions. Scientists continue to work to take the paper they have developed further and to produce it in high quantities by increasing its lifespan.
