London Old unit of measure, new unit of measure: As a result of Brexit, Great Britain canceled numerous EU regulations, thus smoothing the return to the pound and ounce labeling of goods.

The government of Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that it would reintroduce the imperial system of weights and measures, the British government announced yesterday, Thursday.

The regulation means that in future shops will only be able to label their goods in pounds and ounces – under EU rules this was only allowed if the weight was also specified in kilograms. Brexit supporters were a thorn in the side of the ban, they are now celebrating the return to English traditions.

It is now also allowed to print the royal crown on pint glasses. As the “Crown Stamp”, the symbol has indicated the correct standard size of the vessels for centuries. EU rules introduced in 2007, which the then EU member Great Britain had to adhere to, replaced the crown with the uniform CE mark.
