Dusseldorf Consumer goods manufacturer Henkel continues to produce in Russia, despite the war of aggression against Ukraine. The head of the supervisory board, Simone Bagel-Trah, defends the actions of the executive board: “The current continuation of our business in Russia is not a question of profit in view of the weak ruble and the difficulties in the country,” she told the Handelsblatt.

“Here we mainly produce everyday goods for the population,” explains the representative of the owning family. It is the first time since the outbreak of war that a member of the Henkel family, which holds a good 60 percent of the company’s shares, has made a public statement.
