Reddit, which is one of the largest social media platforms in the world and sometimes even directs the crypto money industry with the emerging trends, is based on Ethereum. “Community Point” took a new step for its tokens.
Reddit Continues to Develop
The recently announced project, which allows people to earn points according to their activeness on the community, later gave rise to the chance to make money thanks to the possibility of converting them into tokens. Announced in December 2019, the project is now moving towards the end and a new waiting list has been created for site-wide change.
The program will be available as an internal feature of subreddits for now and will be used across the entire platform. Just like Karma, Reddit users will earn Community Points and will be rewarded for every contribution they make. Earning points is currently in beta and Reddit management has advised to be wary of it. Buying, selling or otherwise evaluating the points was declared against the rules of the site.
It is stated that the Community Points program is now available on the Rinkeby testnet and will soon migrate to the L2 solution Arbitrum of the Ethereum network. Now, Reddit has published a waiting list focused on Community Points participation by sharing a special link to it. It is wondered whether the value of these tokens will break records like the previous ones. The key point here is that selling them could result in the Reddit account being closed.
