Prussia wins 3-1: Johnny pulls Verl’s tooth | Sports

Heavy, continuous rain, extremely deep ground, and a completely overwhelmed referee. And yet in the end it was a third division spectacle that was well worth seeing…

Prussia wins 3:1. Johnny pulls Verl’s tooth!

Newcomer Münster said goodbye to the promotion year 2023 with a strong performance from its fans. Thanks to the deserved 3-1 win in the home final against Verl, head coach Sascha Hildmann’s (51) boys climbed to 10th place in the table and are already eleven points ahead of the relegation zone.

The guests from East Westphalia came to Hammer Straße as the “team of the hour”. With seven wins and two draws from the last nine games. Plus with the best attack line, which had already scored 37 times.

Impressive numbers – but apparently not for the Eagle Bearers. They dominated the game for long periods and almost completely took SC top shooter Oliver Batista Meier (22/9 hits/10 assists) out of the game. Significantly: Verl’s first dangerous shot was scored by captain Mael Corboz (29) late in the 75th minute – but he was also in the game straight away. To equalize 1:1 in the meantime.

For the Prussians, however, Malik “Batman” Batmaz (23) confirmed his almost legendary reputation as the most dangerous third division double packer. After he missed another sure-fire chance in the 21st minute and failed in front of keeper Luca Unbehaun (22), he then netted twice again (55th/79th). Already for the fourth time in the current season. There is also a three-pack. Makes a total of 11 booths for the new addition from Karlsruher SC. A great quote!

But Joel “Johnny” Grodowski (25), of all people, was the one to finally pull the plug on his former club – he only returned from Verl in the summer. His difficult 3-1 from a tight angle into the far corner (88th) was the decision in front of 7,595 spectators who, despite the bad weather, had great joy in these great Prussians.

Much less, however, to referee Assad Nouhoum (29/Fürstenfeldbrück), who was throwing around yellow cards in this hard-fought but still fair game. Six for Münster, five for Verl. Including both coaches Hildmann and Alexander Ende (44).

In 15 third division games he has already issued a record-breaking 95 (!) warnings and also shown two traffic light cards. Still questions?!

It’s just annoying that with Rico Preißinger (27) and Luca Bazzoli (23), both midfield clearers of the Black-White-Greens received their fifth, so they have to watch next Saturday in Unterhaching (4:12 p.m./4:30 p.m.)…
