Dusseldorf, Frankfurt The neobank N26 does not come to rest. According to research by the Handelsblatt, the Berlin public prosecutor’s office is investigating several executives from Germany’s second most valuable start-up. The authority confirmed this when asked: “The procedure is aimed at a total of four managers from N26,” said a spokeswoman.

The background is, among other things, suspected fraudulent customer accounts or the suspicion of fraudulent use of N26 accounts. Customers have filed complaints across the country. Criminals had obviously opened numerous accounts at N26 for their own purposes, for example to operate online fake shops or for money laundering. Consumers complain that reported accounts were not blocked in a timely manner. They therefore also feel deceived by the bank.
