Private investors should be prepared for this

We can feel it at the petrol pump, on the gas bill, in the supermarket and at our favorite Italian restaurant: everything is getting more expensive. That is a fact – but also a cause for concern? Harm Bandholz, Professor of Economics and Economic Policy in Kiel, thinks the discussion about inflation is hype. The macroeconomist worked for over ten years as chief economist on Wall Street, and it is there that the news of the US inflation rate of 6.2 percent caused great unease among investors. Exchange rate losses were the result.
