Prigozhin has been criticizing the state of the Russian army for months and accuses the Defense Ministry in Moscow and the army general staff of a lack of support and the resulting higher number of victims in his mercenary group.

Berlin On Monday, the Russian Ministry of Defense spread another success story: An offensive by Ukraine had been repelled and the enemy inflicted heavy casualties. Mercenary boss Yevgeny Prigozhin now makes fun of it in the online service Telegram.

Moscow reported more than 1,500 Ukrainian soldiers killed Monday and then Tuesday. Large numbers of German Leopard tanks were also said to have been destroyed. A total of 28 tanks and 109 armored vehicles of Ukraine are said to have been destroyed.

The Russians did not provide evidence for these claims. Instead, a video probably taken by Ukrainian soldiers circulated, showing four armored vehicles abandoned after hostilities.

Wagner boss Prigoshin explained that even the lying baron Münchhausen should be surprised at such reports. He called the reports “wild fantasy” and explained that with such losses “we would have destroyed the earth five times already”.
