- IOTA Stardust: This network will have a total IOTA supply of 4,600,000,000 altcoins with a circulating supply of 2,785,272,581. Over a period of four years, the tokens will be gradually unlocked through a temporary token release. This would also equate to approximately 12% new tokens per year.
- IOTA Stardust Classic: As the name suggests, this network will be a transition from the existing Chrysalis protocol to the Stardust protocol. It will maintain the current total IOTA supply of 2,779,530,283 altcoins (under the old value).
IOTA Foundation’s commitment
In the future, the IOTA Foundation will put all its support behind the altcoin IOTA Stardust network. On the other hand, the IOTA Stardust Classic network will continue for a limited period of four weeks following its launch.
