Terrible scenes on the edge of the European Union! In the border region between Belarus and Poland, thousands of migrants are still waiting on the Belarusian side, hoping to advance westward into the EU.
They sleep in makeshift camps in the forest at temperatures around freezing. Some groups made a violent attempt to cross the border on Saturday night. It is the pictures that the Belarusian dictator Alexander Lukashenko (67) wished for!
Lukashenko lured the migrants from Syria and Iraq to Minsk, abused the plight of the people in order to get revenge on the EU for the sanctions imposed. The federal police are now cracking down on Lukashenko’s gangs of smugglers!

In the past ten weeks, 329 people smugglers have been provisionally arrested by the federal police who have brought migrants with vans from the Polish border area to Germany. A large number of them are in custody.
The perpetrators also include 14 with a German passport and some Syrians and Iraqis with a right of residence in Germany. The other smugglers come from Ukraine, Georgia and the Baltic States.

According to the investigators’ findings, the smugglers apply via closed forums on the Internet and rent a van. The people behind them in Minsk send them geo-data on their mobile phones about the areas in which they should take in the migrants.
They receive between 1000 and 5000 euros per trip. So far, more than 9,500 migrants who came to Germany via Minsk have been registered.
Green leader Annalena Baerbock (40) criticizes the emergency situation in the border area. The emergency humanitarian aid is now the most urgent, said Baerbock to Bild am Sonntag. “Therefore, aid organizations must be allowed into the closed border area immediately. I appeal to the Polish government to make this possible and to accept the EU’s offers of support – also with regard to joint border protection. “
