Berlin Health is a growth market – the pharmaceutical industry in Germany benefits from a steadily increasing demand for medicines. On average, the industry, which, according to calculations by the Handelsblatt Research Institute, achieved sales of around 55 billion euros in 2021, is growing by a little more than three percent per year.
Even if the importance has recently decreased somewhat, Germany is still an important research location, in which the industry recently invested almost eight billion euros per year. The pioneering success of the Mainz-based company Biontech, which was the first to produce a corona vaccine, also attracted more attention.
