According to the indictment, the company transferred $488,000 in cryptocurrencies to different wallets when it ceased operations. The Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK) had blocked Vebitcoin’s financial accounts in Turkey. Victims YDÇ., AG, H.Ö., MOY, İ.FT, BK and GA filed a complaint claiming that they could not withdraw their crypto money from Vebitcoin.

İlker Baş and Güliz Baş were taken into custody on April 23, 2021. Three days later, they were arrested at the courthouse where they were transferred. At that time, with the objection to the Criminal Judgeship of Peace on Duty, it was decided to release everyone except İlker Baş on condition of judicial control. Later, Muğla Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office added new suspects to the file. The 249-page indictment in question was prepared by Muğla Public Prosecutors Mehmet Şirin Keleş and Sevcan Erciyas.

According to the indictment, İlker Baş said that Vebitcoin made a profit through buying and selling on the website. He stated that his monthly income is 1.5 million liras. He stated that he allocated 15 thousand liras for family needs and spent the rest for the company.

He said that the company’s transaction volume is an average of 800 million lira per month. On the other hand, according to the indictment, the Vebitcoin organization in question operated in a hierarchical manner. According to the indictment, the leader was giving the instructions, while the managers and members were making crypto money transactions in line with the instructions. In the document, it was stated that the manager Berkay Baş sent 488 thousand dollars of crypto money to a different wallet account on April 23, 2021, upon the instruction of İlker Baş.
