Payment Giant VISA Files Patent Applications to Enter the Digital World!

Payment giant Visa To the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) digital wallets, NFTs and Metaverse filed two trademark applications.

This move followed those of other major companies and payment companies, including American Express.

One of the applications is “digital transactions; use as digital currency wallet and storage services software; i.e. managing and verifying cryptocurrency transactions using blockchain technology.

The other is “users’ cryptocurrency, digital and blockchain assets and immutable tokens. (NFTs) provision of temporary use of non-downloadable software to view, access, store, monitor, manage, trade, send and receive.

Other parts of the applications concerned “non-downloadable virtual goods” and “a collection of non-exchangeable tokens” and “providing virtual environments where users can interact for entertainment purposes accessible in the virtual world”.

Visa applications, American Express and NYSE This came as no surprise, after many large companies, including the company, filed similar applications last year.

Visa applied for a patent in 2020 for the process of converting physical fiat currency to a new digitized version.

“As a company, we are constantly exploring new forms of payments and technologies that can lead to greater financial inclusion,” a company spokesperson said in a statement.
