Outage Again Happened in Solana: SOL Foundation Official Made a Statement!

Left (LEFT) Remote Procedure Call (RPC) endpoints operated by the Foundation are currently unavailable.

Cryptocurrency RPC endpoints, which are nodes that applications and wallets use to connect to the blockchain, went offline due to a bug in the 1.14 test version of the SOL Validator client.

Solana Foundation RPC Endpoints Goed Offline Due to a Software Bug

“Mainnet beta Explorer and Solana Foundation Public RPC endpoints are currently offline as the RPC node software was updated following a bug in test version 1.14,” a tweet by Solana Status said. The tweet explained that unlike past outages that froze block production for hours, the event did not affect SOL’s ability to generate new blocks.

Although the foundation’s RPC endpoints were offline, custom RPCs from companies such as Triton, QuickNode, and Alchemy remained online and available for use.

“This only affects those operated by the Solana Foundation,” said Austin Federa, director of strategy and communications at the Solana Foundation. A lot of private providers are doing just fine,” he said.

The Solana Foundation stated that the issue is being actively worked on and they expect the RPC endpoints to be back online soon. Meanwhile, users are encouraged to use custom RPCs provided by other companies as a workaround.

The foundation assured its community that the outage will not have a long-term impact on the stability of the SOL blockchain.

While the Solana Foundation’s RPC endpoints are currently unavailable, it’s important to note that the SOL blockchain itself is fully operational. Transactions and block generation continue normally, and the issue with RPC endpoints affects connectivity between external applications and wallets and the SOL network.
