Otokar Alpar, a heavy class unmanned land vehicle, was introduced!

Otokar explained its capabilities that make a difference in global markets at the press conference held at its factory in Sakarya. It also introduced its new vehicles. Otokar’s surprise at the meeting Alpar Heavy Class Tracked Unmanned Armored Vehicle it happened. Alpar was developed by Otokar as an unmanned platform that can perform tasks with manned and unmanned elements in the battlefield to meet the needs of the armed forces’ robotic and unmanned ground vehicles.

Being the first heavy land vehicle designed as unmanned, Alpar is a first for the Turkish defense industry. The vehicle, which has a serial hybrid electric drive infrastructure and can operate completely silently, has the ability to operate autonomously and with remote control.

Alpar draws attention with its low thermal footprint, ability to be carried on the plane and fast-changeable battery infrastructure. Moreover, Alpar also increases its mission capability thanks to a mini unmanned land vehicle it can carry.

New Altay tanks join the TAF inventory!

Two new Altay tanks produced by BMC Defense are being delivered to the TAF. The tanks will be given at a ceremony on April 23.

The vehicle with a maximum loaded weight of 15 tons aims to find solutions to the following issues with its autonomous systems and artificial intelligence systems:

  • Reducing personnel risk on the battlefield.
  • Increasing the success of tasks, especially routine tasks, by reducing the number of personnel in the field by using Artificial Intelligence and data analytics.
  • To increase efficiency in the battlefield by communicating with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and other elements in the battlefield.
