Snow and Ice Driving Event took place in Çaldır
Founded in 2008, 18 championships won on national and international platforms in 13 years. In this adrenaline-filled event, similar to which are held in Northern European countries; on the frozen Çıldır Lake BMW and MINI ice driving with cars and on Kısır Mountain Land Rover Land Rover Experience off-road snow driving with Defender vehicles witnessed moments full of adrenaline and joy.
In the event, which was held for the 7th time this year by OM Academy; On Lake Çıldır, whose ice thickness exceeds 40 centimeters, driving was carried out on a total of 3 tracks: Basic Training, Drift and Race track. Accompanied by BOM Academy trainers, the participants had the opportunity to test the capabilities of the cars in extreme winter conditions with both standard winter tires and studded race tires.
From the BMW M family, which includes BMW’s high-performance cars; With the BMW M8 Competition Coupé, BMW M4 Competition Coupé and BMW M240i xDrive Coupé models, as well as the BMW 420i Coupé, BMW 320i and MINI Countryman ALL4 JCW models, the activity, where the limits were pushed, took place in an atmosphere of fun as well as educational.
Participants also carried out snow driving in extreme conditions with Land Rover Defender vehicles rising over the functional D7x architecture that supports the latest electric powertrains, on the off-road track on Kısır Mountain, again accompanied by BOM Academy trainers.
Land Rover’s iconic model Land Rover Defender, which was awarded the “Design of the Year” award given for the first time in Turkey’s Car of the Year competition, organized by the Automotive Journalists Association (OGD) last year, created admiration with its off-road capability in difficult road conditions, Gondwana Stone, Pangea Green, Santorini Black, Tasman Blue, Indus Silver vehicles dazzled on the snow.
