One of USA’s Prestigious Universities Is Launching A Metaverse Course!

The Wharton School, a high-profile business school affiliated with the University of Pennsylvania, metaverse announced the launch of a new business course.

The online course titled “Business in the Metaverse Economy” educates students on the business practices of this virtual world and provides participants with first-hand interactive experiences in virtual spaces.

The Course Opened by the University Will Provide Metaverse Training to Professionals

The aim of the course is to provide business professionals with a better understanding of the opportunities in the emerging virtual world economy and better tools to address issues in this economy, said Kevin Werbach, academic director of the program.

Other high-profile universities in the United States, such as courses at Duke University and Stanford University, have also used web3 technology as learning tools and offered course completion certificates as non-fungible tokens (NFTs). But Wharton’s new program marks one of the first instances of the Metaverse entering higher education as an economic opportunity.

Wharton developed the metaverse business course with economics consulting firm Prysm Group. The six-week program is asynchronous and includes over 50 lecture videos featuring guest speakers from Adobe, Animoca Brands, Second Life, Unity and more.
