According to Ichijo Futakawa, CEO of Nissan Mobility Service, which studies Nissan’s autonomous driving, the first phase will continue with Leaf electric vehicles from March to September. Then, the tests will move to the second phase in October with the brand’s electric crossover SUV model Ariya.

The company said it will be the first to provide autonomous driving services from Japan to China. WeRide autonomous driving company, of which Nissan and Renault are investors, will also support the tests. According to Futakawa, if the testing process goes well, the company aims to commercialize it in China after 2025.
