Rome Time-consuming research in journalism often starts out simple. This one started at the beginning of the year with a one-sentence work assignment: “Create an NFT, try to sell it, and write about your experiences.” When I thought of NFT, I immediately thought of these little digital collector’s cards that are auctioned off at absurdly high prices will. But that’s all I knew. I was in digital nowhere.
NFT, the abbreviation stands for “Non-Fungible Token”, unchangeable files that are stored tamper-proof on the blockchain – like in a digital cash book. Almost anything can be such a unique item: a photo, a video, sounds, graphics.
