New era in contactless payment from BRSA! Now it will ask for password

Although the contactless payment method used by many people is very convenient, it is obvious that it is open for unauthorized use. The Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) is taking a new step in this regard.

BRSA: “Password will be required for the first contactless transactions”

The use of contactless cards without customer knowledge continues to be a problem. The BRSA, which wants to take a new step in this regard, will ask for a password for contactless payments. Regardless of the volume of the transaction made according to the new period, the password will be required to be entered in the first transaction.

BRSA’s statement;

In order to prevent customers from using cards without their knowledge, it has been deemed appropriate to promptly enter a password in the first contactless transactions to be made for card payments for all bank customers across our country, without being limited to the provinces where the state of emergency has been declared, and to continue the current practice for subsequent transactions.
