Netflix has made its update available to the smart TV application. On mobile and computer, it did not make any changes. There was also a statement from the authorities on the subject. TJ Marston, Product Innovation Manager for the Child and Family Division, explained why they made the update:
Children always want what they love. It’s hard to get them to give up their favorite toys, foods, and songs and try something new. That’s why today we’re bringing a new Surprise Box feature to TVs around the world. This feature will provide a fun and safe space for kids to discover their new favorite TV shows and movies or meet up with a familiar face again.
Kids and parents can take advantage of this feature by following these three steps:
- Log in to the child profile.
- In the child profile, at the top of the home page ‘My Favorites Row’ find. This line aims to bring children together with their favorite characters, series and movies as soon as they open Netflix.
- You can start playing random content by hovering the cursor over the bright “Surprise Box”.
Netflix is constantly improving its children’s profile, where it includes special content for younger audiences. The company was previously Child Activity Report Added a feature. This tool, which increased parental control, made it possible to understand data such as what kind of content children like and which characters they like.
