The first excitement of the evening came from Nena Schink: “The children are being used and instrumentalized far too much in this election campaign.”

Background: Schink is annoyed about that “Late Night Berlin” children’s interview with the chancellor candidates and a Tweet the Green Bundestag candidate Jette Nietzard.

“The Greens use children to express their opinions,” said Schink about the tweet and brought another example of the children’s election campaign: The Green mayoral candidate Bettina Jarasch had quoted an eleven-year-old boy named Karl who told her about the fight against climate change : “Please, please don’t dawdle like that anymore!”

Schink’s verdict: “If you have to let children speak for you, you are politically at the end.”

Wolfram Weimer said: The fact that politics is made about children “came back through Greta”. Bild-Vice Paul Ronzheimer contradicted: “Greta is no comparison to the children who are now used by the politicians – who are now also much younger. Greta makes an authentic impression. ”

Bum, a discussion right at the beginning of the talk.

“The children are placed in front of the politicians as human shields in order to emotionally armor their intellectually poor positions,” said Roger Köppel.

The next topic brought “Welt” reporter Anna Schneider with her: She was upset about “Armin Laschet’s lust for downfall”. “That can’t have been everything in the election campaign,” said Schneider.

The triumph on Sunday showed once again “what runs through all of Armin Laschet’s appearances: He doesn’t get a point for what he stands for, no promise, no content conveyed,” said Schneider upset. “Apart from warnings about red-red-green and that the Greens are actually to blame for the nuclear phase-out and thus the coal phase-out in 2038, there is not much.”

Schneider is fascinated “more than it worries me about how much the Union is actually watching its own death”.

▶ ︎ BUT, Wolfram Weimer’s thesis: “The CDU is known for making miserable election campaigns – and still becoming chancellor.”

And Roger Köppel also said: “Armin Laschet is the most underrated candidate in this federal election – and by far the most sensible candidate.” Köppel called Laschet the “return of German Biedermeier”.

Paul Ronzheimer saw it differently with a view to the Trielli: “It was an absolute disaster performance by Armin Laschet.”

The third upset was about the upcoming federal election: Wolfram Weimer was outraged “about red-red-green” – more precisely, that there was no rejection of a coalition with the Greens candidate Annalena Baerbock and SPD candidate Olaf Scholz on Sunday either Left gave.

“Both Jamaica and a traffic light would be exciting coalitions,” said Weimer. “But an extreme party has no place in government. Also yesterday there was no clear rejection of Baerbock and Scholz to a coalition with the left and nobody seems to be particularly upset. “

Roger Köppel contradicted: “Democracy is when everyone talks to everyone.” He finds this “exclusion in Germany” terrible. Köppel’s argument: “In politics you have to expose the people – right and left – again and again. There’s no point in putting them in a poison cabinet. ”

Paul Ronzheimer saw it differently: “But that has nothing to do with exclusion.” He thinks it is right that the people’s parties should not form a coalition with some parties.

BILD-VIZE Paul Ronzheimer brought up the fourth exciting topic: “I was incredibly upset about what Helge Braun predicted wrongly.”

▶ ︎ Braun said on July 24th that if the Delta variant continued to develop and if the vaccination quota stayed that way, then we would have an incidence of 850 in nine weeks. “Today is what Helge Braun meant,” Ronzheimer said. “And we have an incidence of 70!” When BILD denounced this false prognosis, Braun only said that it was not a false prognosis, the BILD vice-president was further upset. Rather, it was about issuing a warning to avoid this horror incidence.

“This statement shows all the madness, all the absurdity and all the mendacity of this corona policy,” said Ronzheimer.

Schneider was amazed that Ronzheimer could still get so upset about false prognoses. She was much more annoyed that the Corona issue was so rarely mentioned in the election campaign. “You don’t even know who to vote for if you don’t want another lockdown,” says Schneider.

“That doesn’t go on a cow’s skin,” Köppel judged about the false prognoses.

Finale of the discussion evening: Editor-in-chief of “Weltwoche” Roger Köppel was upset that a British critic of the children’s cartoon series “Paw Patrol – Helpers on Four Paws” certified it to be “authoritarian neoliberal propaganda”.

In the children’s series, a ten-year-old hero and six puppies fight for ordinary citizens against incompetent politicians and other threats to everyday life.

“The paw patrol upholds ideals such as selflessness and helpfulness. But even that goes too far for the new conviction inquisition. They shout: neoliberalism! Public filth! Glorification of the Police! Police dog puppies: It doesn’t work at all, ”said Köppel. He opposed: “More freedom, more tolerance, more Paw Patrol! I demand solidarity with the lovely, rascally paw patrol! “

“The left-wing madness is spreading in the children’s room,” Schink agrees with the excitement – and that after we are already used to a lot of Woke madness.
