Nazareth In the middle of Nazareth is the “Mary’s Well” well, where Mary supposedly drew water for the holy family. Jesus is said to have grown up in this area.

And 70 start-ups have already been founded here. High-tech companies such as Microsoft and Salesforce have also opened research and development laboratories.

The city of Nazareth in northern Israel is not only fascinating for Christians from all over the world. It is well on the way to becoming a magnet for Arab high-tech entrepreneurs in the start-up nation of Israel.

The first start-up in Nazareth, the city with the largest Arab community in Israel, was founded 30 years ago by Reem Younis and her husband Imad. The couple laid the foundation for Nazareth as a future high-tech hub when they rented offices not far from Mary’s Well for their start-up Alpha Omega.
