NASA launches grand prize CineSpace short film competition

The CineSpace short film competition, which is organized every year by NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) and Houston Motion Picture Arts Association, is taking place this year as well. Contest conditions

  • May contain graphics, music, and other production elements found on YouTube. To use NASA footage on YouTube, it must be cleared of third-party materials (i.e., non-NASA content).
  • You may modify, edit, and add special effects and graphics images owned by NASA as long as any third-party material you use is properly licensed.
  • You can adapt an older short film you’re working on, but your video must be created after January 1, 2020.
  • If your film is in a language other than English, a review copy of your work must be subtitled in English. If you are selected as a Finalist to be screened at the Houston Cinema Arts Festival, you will be required to submit the 1080p version without subtitles and provide the transcript with English subtitles or the SRT file with English subtitles.
  • There is no fee to enter CineSpace. You can send up to 5 short films!
  • If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must submit and sign all paperwork on your behalf.
