NASA: 2023 Became the Hottest Year on Record

NASA confirmed that 2023 is the hottest year on record in an article it shared. July 2023 was the hottest month of all time.

Even though some insistently deny it, the Earth is in a very perceptible way. with the global warming crisis face to face. Summers that are hotter and longer than we have ever seen, winters that never come, and extreme weather events that increase in number day by day are the clearest indicators that the climate balance of our planet is deteriorating.

With an article shared yesterday, NASA confirmed that 2023 will be the hottest year on record. So much so that the average surface temperature of the Earth in the past year was lower than the period between 1951 and 1980. 1.2 degrees Celsius was higher. Since 1880, when we started recording temperatures, the average temperature increase has reached 1.4 degrees Celsius.

Above average temperatures were seen in almost all parts of the world

According to NASA’s statement, global temperature records were recorded every month from June 2023 to December. If July 2023 hottest month of all time broke a record. Again, according to NASA, 5 important reasons played a role in 2023 being the hottest year on record:

  • Greenhouse gases in the atmosphere continue to increase
  • El Niño-Southern Oscillation, which affects climate around the world
  • Above-normal sea surface temperatures as oceans continue to warm
  • Reduction of aerosols slowing down temperature rise
  • Hunga Tonga-Hunga Ha’apai volcano eruption
