Work for Turksat 6A, Turkey’s first completely domestic and national communications satellite, has been continuing for a long time. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced the exact date for the project on his official Twitter (X) account.
Turksat 6A will be launched in June 2024
The project, which started with the protocol signed on December 15, 2014, is coming to an end. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu clarified some issues during his visit to Turkish Aerospace Industries Inc. (TAI).
The largest partner of the project was SpaceX, Elon Musk’s company. Uraloğlu stated that the delivery of the Türksat 6A satellite is planned in March in preparation for launch. The Minister announced that Turksat 6A, which will serve at 42 east longitude, will be launched in June 2024. The following statements were included in the post.
The project, signed on December 15, 2014 with the participation of our President, will take our country among the top 11 in the world that can produce communication satellites. We will make the domestic delivery of TÜRKSAT 6A, which is carried out in cooperation with Türksat A.Ş., Defense Industry and Turkish Aerospace Industries, in March. Launch date is in June 2024!
