December 11, 2023 – With the Memory Door of Civilizations Project, which brings together the country’s young Instagram content creators for a cause that goes beyond digital platforms, Meta sheds light on how Turkish youth are uniting in a collective effort to support a vital social cause. Using the power of Instagram, the project emphasizes the importance of uniting and protecting cultural values after disasters.
For the project carried out in cooperation with UNDP Turkey and Koç University KARMA Lab, 3 AR filters were developed so that content producers can reflect the appearance of city symbols before the earthquake. Collaborating with Instagram to spread the message of the project, Yeşim Sevinç, Emir Elidemir and Yeliz Korkmaz aim to encourage their followers to visit the Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep and Hatay regions affected by the earthquake and to revitalize tourism through interesting content by using these filters in the Reels videos they share.
