Meta aims to encourage parents and teens to take advantage of existing security tools and gain more control over Instagram. Within the scope of the project, Meta plans to raise awareness about social media security and available tools for young people.
In this context, the event held at Meta Station in Turkey took place with the participation of a number of panelists who focused on improving the digital experiences of young people. Speaking at the event, Meta Turkey and Azerbaijan Public Policy Director Sezen Yeşil emphasized that the safety of young people on social media is important for Meta and stated that they aim to raise awareness about the tools developed for young people and parents on Instagram.

Regarding her Instagram experience, Ceyda Düvenci said that social media is a place to share with your loved ones within personal boundaries. Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Betül Ulukol stated that while social media offers opportunities to young people, it also brings challenges, and pointed out the importance of raising awareness and providing correct guidance instead of keeping children away from social media.
Meta has put more than 30 vehicles into use in the last three years, keeping the safety of young people at the forefront. Among the new features available on Instagram, ‘Calm Mode’ stands out as a feature that helps young users gain more control.
Additionally, additional tools for Instagram’s Parental Surveillance feature were also announced, allowing parents to more closely monitor their children’s online experiences. Meta’s efforts aim to ensure that young people have a safer and richer experience in the online world.
