Facebook, one of the most rooted social media platforms in the world, has been implementing startup stations called META to create the infrastructure of the future business world in many different regions of the world, especially since the company changed its name to Meta. The company is increasing its presence in Turkey.
Kahramanmaraş was the last stop of Meta Entrepreneurship Station.
According to the news of world writer Kerim Ülker, Meta has chosen Kahramanmaraş as the new address for entrepreneurship stations in Turkey. The initiative, which was implemented in Turkey with the cooperation of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) and Habitat Association, was previously opened in cities such as Mersin, Aydın, İzmir, Çanakkale and Antalya.
It is stated that 30 people can work at the same time at the Meta station established in Kahramanmaraş. Şahin Balcıoğlu, the President of Kahramanmaraş Chamber of Commerce and Industry, contributed greatly to the arrival of the station to the city. Balcıoğlu used the following statements on the subject.
This ecosystem, developed by one of the most important companies in the world, Facebook, together with TOBB and Habitat Association, will pave the way for our city’s entrepreneur candidates. 30 of our young friends will be able to benefit from the station at the same time, 20 of which are software and 10 are the workshop. There are also production-based materials such as 3D printers and laser cutters in the workshops.
Meta third quarter prospects frighten!
After a tough second quarter that failed to meet expectations, Meta’s third-quarter figures are eagerly awaited.
Balcıoğlu stated that Meta Entrepreneurship Station will support women entrepreneurs. In addition, he stated that trainings will be given on many subjects such as technology literacy, exports, SMEs, and digital journalism. Balcıoğlu mentioned that the project’s arrival in the city was the result of a process of more than 2 years.
Although Meta has increased its presence in Turkey, it has not been for good relations lately. In the past years, while Meta was not yet the umbrella company of Facebook and other platforms, the actions of the Zuckerberg administration entered the Competition Authority’s radar. The investigation started in this direction was concluded today and a very high penalty was given.
