This love is ripe for Hollywood!
Matthias Schweighöfer (40) and his Ruby O. Fee (25) have been a couple for more than three and a half years. Now they are conquering America as actors – together!
In the new Netflix film “Army of Thieves”, in which Matthias Schweighöfer plays the leading role and directed, the lovers stand together in front of the camera for the first time.

Schweighöfer was recently invited to the show by US talk legend Jimmy Fallon (47) alongside Kelly Clarkson (39) and Chrissy Teigen (35) to promote his film – THE accolade for every actor! And something that would probably never have been possible without his Ruby, as Schweighöfer now reveals in a “Stern” interview:
“I owe that to Ruby too. For years I suffered from panic fear of flying, which is why I shied away from every flight to the USA. Then Ruby came into my life. (…) Before that, she had a really good manager in Hollywood, made an action film with Mads Mikkelsen. Then I thought: If you want that too, you have to overcome your fears. “
The two also got to know each other on a film set during the shooting of “Bibi & Tina” in 2014. Ruby then went to many auditions for Schweighöfer’s films – but never got a role.
Nevertheless, Schweighöfer had an eye on Ruby, followed her on Instagram and regularly saw her stories, as Ruby reveals. “We then made an appointment. In a wine bar in Berlin. ”
It sparked. The fact that they are now in front of the camera together, for a film in which Schweighöfer is in charge, was a new challenge for both of them. Ruby to “Stern”: “There is this saying in Hollywood: First make a film together, then you will see if you fit together.”
In order to separate professional and private life, the couple had signed a deal before shooting began: “We don’t show anyone our relationship on set. And after the day of shooting, we don’t talk about work, ”says Schweighöfer. That worked – with one exception.
Ruby once became jealous on the set because Schweighöfer took more time as a director for another actress. “You were often very abrupt with me,” Ruby told Matthias in an interview. He explained: “I just know you better, because I was able to speak to you more directly. In general, I now have to say: I’ve never trusted a woman as much as Ruby. “
Because of the 15 year age difference, nobody really believed in their love.
Schweighöfer: “At the beginning of our relationship I had to listen to a lot of things like: ‘But it won’t last long with the little one!’ And now we’ve been together for three and a half years. It’s not forever, but it feels damn good. Hopefully at some point people will say about us: They did a good job, what a lovely couple. “
