Berlin Many millions of sports fans cannot escape the appeal of sports betting. On the German market alone, annual sales are around 9.4 billion euros, an incredible amount of money. The big winners are the bookmakers and bookmakers. The big losers are the many millions of players.
Business mathematician Fabian Wunderlich explains that sports betting does not necessarily mean losses. The scientist from the German Sport University in Cologne does not see bookmakers as rip-offs – like so many do. He really admires the forecasting models they work with.
