Frankfurt/Main Lufthansa’s major shareholder Klaus-Michael Kühne does not want to increase his 15 percent stake any further. In principle he would be interested, said the logistics entrepreneur of the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” (Tuesday). The only major shareholder besides Kühne, the Federal Republic of Germany, must sell its ten percent stake by next year at the latest. “We would then have a blocking minority of 25 percent. That is probably not politically enforceable, ”said Kühne.

It is also about the voting ratios in the general meeting, which is usually not well attended at Lufthansa. “Therefore, the Cartel Office has dealt with the question of whether we would already have a de facto blocking minority with a stake of 15 percent. That was denied, but we could burn our fingers with every percentage point more,” says the company.
