Apple held yesterday WWDC introduced new devices and the latest versions of operating systems at the event. The Mac Pro model with the M2 Ultra processor was also among the devices that attracted the most attention at the event. Mac Pro, which is stated to surpass the Intel processor model with its performance, showed itself in Geekbench.
M2 Ultra processor doubles Intel
Mac Pro with M2 Ultra processor managed to score 2,794 points in single core and 21,453 points in multi-core in Geekbench. The highest Intel-based Mac Pro with a 28-core Xeon W processor scored 1,378 and 10,390 in the same tests. The results confirm Apple, which claims that the new Mac Pro is twice as fast as the fastest Intel-based model.
The new Mac Pro comes with two SSD storage slots. The product, which draws attention with its rendered metal surface, has eight Thunderbolt ports and six PCI expansion slots. Up to 76 core GPU and 192GB memory configuration possible.

Compared to the previous model, the new Mac Pro comes with eight Thunderbolt 4 ports. There are six Thunderbolt ports at the bottom and two at the top. This provides twice as many connections as the previous model. It can also support up to six Pro Display XDRs. It also offers Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and Bluetooth 5.3 support.
The Mac Pro has three USB-A ports and two HDMI ports. HDMI ports support up to 8K resolution and 240Hz refresh rate. There are also two 10Gb Ethernet ports. The product also includes a headphone jack.
The new Mac Pro is the first model to be introduced with the M2 Ultra processor. This processor includes a 24-core CPU, which is 30% faster than the previous M1 Ultra, and a GPU with up to 76 cores. Produced with two M2 Max molds depending on Apple’s ultra fusion technology, the processor went through the 5nm production process. This increases the memory bandwidth of the M2 Max up to 800 GB/s.
The new Mac Pro has the same overall design as the 2019 model, but no longer offers graphics support. Also, Apple doesn’t have user-upgradeable RAM due to the combined memory of the silicon. The computer went on sale today at $6,999 abroad, after pre-orders last week.
