Lufthansa raises profit forecast again – share rises to annual high

Frankfurt The recovery in ticket demand from the corona crisis makes Lufthansa even more optimistic for the current year. The operating profit (adjusted EBIT) should now reach around 1.5 billion euros, as the company listed in the MDax surprisingly announced on Tuesday in Frankfurt.

Only in October did the board double its forecast from more than 500 million to more than one billion euros. Analysts recorded by the Bloomberg news agency had recently expected an average of around 1.1 billion euros.

After the news, the Lufthansa share rose by more than four percent, reaching its highest level in more than a year.

In October and November, the results developed better than expected, Lufthansa reported. In the passenger business, average yields are well above the pre-crisis level, and the booking situation points to a continuation of the positive development.
