How does LOTTO work?
You can play at LOTTO 6aus49 online (LOTTO.de) or with a ticket. A ticket can be purchased at any acceptance point of the German lottery and lottery companies or online.
The rules of the game are just as simple. On every LOTTO lottery ticket there are 12 betting fields with 49 numbers each. You then have to tick six numbers on one of these tip fields. The super number is the last digit of the ticket number.
Every Wednesday (6:25 p.m) and Saturday (7:25 p.m) six numbers plus one super number are determined in a random process. You have won if at least two of the winning numbers plus the super number match the numbers you selected.
You will receive the maximum winnings, i.e. the LOTTO jackpot, if the numbers you have selected match the drawn numbers completely. However, the chances of this happening are 1 in 140 million.

What happens if you win?
Shortly after the drawing on Wednesday or Saturday you will see the current numbers online. If you entered online and won, you will receive an email and/or SMS.
To determine your winnings, you can go to the acceptance point of your choice. All you need is your lottery ticket. Smaller winnings can be paid out in cash at lottery branches.
For larger winnings, or the main prize, you must request it directly from the lottery offices. The lottery ticket must under no circumstances be lost as it serves as proof. Only then will the winnings be paid out.
The payoff of a bigger one lottery winnings happens about a week after the lottery numbers are drawn.
