Losing weight with brain jogging – is that possible?

I’ve read that the food we eat can affect the brain. The organ that you have in your skull needs certain substances to function. And you have to take it first. If these are missing, the brain no longer functions properly. It constantly needs amino acids, proteins and vitamins and is also quite an energy guzzler.

The brain accounts for only two to three percent of body weight, but burns 20 percent of the energy. That’s quite a lot. If you eat about 500 grams of minced meat, 100 grams of it is just for the brain.

It actually makes you wonder why people would want to lose weight by jogging on a treadmill. Wouldn’t it be somehow better if you thought hard about the problems of the world? Maybe on the one hand you would become very slim, on the other hand you might get an idea how to restore peace, prevent epidemics and still maintain prosperity.

Alternatively, many would probably be satisfied with the idea of Germany not finishing last in the Eurovision Song Contest.

Apparently, the right food for the brain consists of berries, nuts, chia seeds and fish. It contains omega-3 fatty acids, which the brain likes. Of course, it is already clear what does not count as brain food, namely fast food. It’s all short-chain fats and sugars that spike insulin and cause inflammation, but don’t do the pear any good.

Other columns by Tillmann Prüfer:

This news comes a little late for me. I’ve eaten too many hamburgers and not enough chia seeds in my life to turn things around. What could have become of me if I had just snacked on pistachios instead of gummy bears? The world must now be saved by others – those who make smoothies out of blueberries.

However, I have also read that humans owe their large brains primarily to excessive meat consumption. It is only because Homo sapiens were once able to hunt down huge prey animals and therefore ingest masses of protein that they were able to develop such a large thinking organ at all.

Today, mammoth meat is suddenly no longer good for the brain. Somebody understand that. I don’t understand it, I would have to chew a few almonds first, which I don’t have on hand at the moment.

By the way, I couldn’t find anything on the internet about whether slim thinking would work. The only thing I found on the Image of Woman website was “Slim Through Positive Thinking”. This probably means that positive thoughts consume even more energy than negative ones. That would explain why liking people is sometimes so exhausting and difficult.
