- Billionaire investor and Shark Tank host Kevin O’Leary has announced that he has a new altcoin position in his crypto asset portfolio.
In a recent interview, O’Leary said: Ethereum (ETH), Left (LEFT), Polygon (MATIC) and in Helium (HNT) as well as “giant” positions to Polymath (POLY) He also said he invested.
Polymath (POLY)is an Ethereum token that aims to facilitate the issuance, creation and management of digital securities representing ownership of assets such as stocks or real estate.
“I invest in everything. I have 32 positions. I don’t know which ones will work. I don’t need them all to perform well. I only need a few, I have several major positions in Ethereum, a major position in Bitcoin, major investments in Solana, Polygon, Helium and POLY, which I recently invested in. ”
O’Leary said he’s also pretty excited about his allocation at USDC issuer Circle. The venture capitalist says with regulatory clarity, Circle’s USDC has the potential to completely disrupt the currency industry and also reduce disputes for international money transfers.
“I have now also invested in a Circle piece on round F along with Fidelity and BlackRock, I did it because their [Circle’a] I saw you invest. I would never have made this investment without the support of such compliant, SEC-regulated organizations that are betting on stablecoins in the midst of this shitty storm. I believe this is a turning point for cryptocurrencies.”
Ultimately, O’Leary points to the massive movement of technology professionals migrating into the industry as evidence that the cryptocurrency industry is on its way to becoming the next sector of the S&P 500 index.
“There are all kinds of projects on the market, and my point is, you’re teaching engineering to MIT graduates right now. I also teach there as a guest instructor. A third of the class are entrepreneurs. Where do they want to go, what are their plans? They are not interested in working in any of the 11 sectors of the economy. They want to work on the blockchain. They want to be in the crypto industry.
It is impossible to invest that much intellectual capital in something and not get great results one day. The crypto industry feels like being at the beginning of the internet, I’m talking about the smartest, brightest men and women from around the world saying, ‘I want to work on crypto, forget about everything else.’
