Karl Lauterbach (SPD) has so far been known as an analyst of the pandemic. In numerous TV appearances, he has repeatedly commented on vaccination rates, lockdowns and virus mutations. He talks little about the digitization of the health system, quite the opposite of his predecessor Jens Spahn (CDU), who advertised with his digital health agenda.
An examination of Lauterbach’s social media channels shows that he also has clear opinions on the digital health economy. Lauterbach is particularly active on Twitter. Since launching his channel in May 2015, he has posted more than 9,500 tweets.
