Last Minute: Ripple (XRP) CEO Brad Garlinghouse Announces the Date for the SEC Case to End!

The litigation with the SEC has been going on for a long time. XRP distributor of Ripple Its CEO, Brad Garlinghouse, announced that a verdict in the case is expected this year.

Ripple Fans Think The Case Will End With SEC Defeat

Stuart Alderoty, Ripple’s Chief Legal Officer, observed in a recent tweet that the SEC has not been so lucky in cases it has filed in the past. Stuart Alderoty noted that the SEC has lost 4 out of 5 cases in the Supreme Court. Alderoty notes that he owes this result to the few people who were brave enough to fight the SEC with their resources.

By contrast, Attorney John Deaton, cryptocurrency The company stated that it believes Ripple can follow the same path as the few plaintiffs that have won against the SEC in the Supreme Court.

Deaton, describing the SEC’s case as overkill, cited the West Virginia EPA case as one of the examples of SEC overdoing. Also, Deaton claims that Ripple has already positioned itself for a positive outcome with its summary decision text:

“I have no doubt that Ripple will win and the current Supreme Court will stop @SECGov from overdoing it. The West Virginia EPA case is all you need to read to agree with me. Ripple’s summary judgment text is already an extremely well-written appeal.”

Deaton expects Judge Analisa Torres for the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York to reject the SEC’s request.
